Fiesta In A Box has been working through the complexities of being a start-up catering company with the help of its wonderful and loyal customers. We worked through many difficulties that a start-up or a catering company might face head on into what may prove to be our nation's worst recession in recent memory. The unfortunate result is that we couldn't keep it going any longer. However, our difficulties have become the benefit of many others! Fiesta In A Box has transferred many of its food and equipment assets to DC Central Kitchen. While all the food and much of the equipment will be used for their teaching efforts, some of the donated equipment will be used by their supporting catering department, Fresh Start Catering, designed to generate funds to support their primary efforts!

DC Central Kitchen is a wonderful organization dedicated to helping the homeless through multiple efforts. This organization feeds the homeless, finds them shelter, sets them up with support to help them work through a variety of life issues, and provides them with an opportunity to learn new skills and develop a career in the culinary arts. Many of their students have worked with Fiesta In A Box as interns in the past and brought with them an outstanding sense of dedication and drive that made them valuable contibutors to the Fiesta In A Box team. In gratitude of our partnership with DC Central Kitchen and for the work that they do we at Fiesta In A Box would like to encourage you to use Fresh Start Catering for your future events. In so doing, you will continue to get great food centered around many of the same values we held at Fiesta In A Box including the use of organics, you will be supporting a great cause, and you will still be getting your food delivered in all recycleable and environmentally friendly materials.

The DC Central Kitchen cooking school is well known around our city and you should know the following points:

2. They help homeless people to find careers, homes, and lives.

3. They work with local and organic farms to create some of the most Earth-friendly menus around.
